EVALUTION SYSTEM
RULES FOR EXAMINATION & PROMOTION PROCEDURES

  1. The school conducts Formative Assessments (FA1 - 4) and Summative Assessment (SA-1 & SA-2) and the decision concerning promotion of a child to the next class depends on the evaluation of the average of all the assessments grades attained.
  2. Any student who falls short of a minimum prescribed level of 85% attendance during the term will not be allowed to appear for the final examination.
  3. Any student whose dues are not promptly or adequately cleared in advance will not be allowed to appear for the final examination.
  4. Any act of irregularity or misconduct by the student detected during an examination is punishable with the penalty of detention in the same class for the next session or expulsion from the school with an adverse remark.
  5. Absence from any examination without any support of a genuine medical certificate submitted before or during the span of the examination days shall result in the detention of the student in the same class.
  6. No student is promoted on the basis of the results of the final examination only.
  7. The following criteria shall apply in determining the award or denial of promotion to a student to the next higher class in the course of evaluation of his/her academic performance.
    1. The minimum D grade in each subject.
    2. English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science, S. Studies, EVS, Computer Science, Punjabi/Sanskrit are considered compulsory subjects and D grade in all of these is an absolute necessity. If a student attains E1/E2 in any one of these subjects, he/she shall not be considered at all for promotion to the next class and shall be deemed to have EICR.
    3. A student must attain a minimum of 40% in the aggregate to be considered for granting promotion to the next higher class subject to the fulfillment of other criteria given above.
    4. The decision taken by the school authorities regarding the results is final. No please by the parents seeking promotion of the failed students shall be considered.
    5. A students who fails twice in the same class or two times within three consecutive years will not be allowed to continue his/her studies in the school.

Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation
As Proposed by CBSE

Classes 1 to10

Continuous and comprehensive evaluation (cce);

It is the process to provide holistic profile of the learner through regular assessment of scholastic and co- scholastic domains of development.

The scheme focuses on all round development of personality of the learners and emphasizes on regular and continuous assessment throughout the year integrated with the processed of teaching and learning.

The term also includes use of a variety of tools and techniques for assessing not only holistic development, but cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains of the learner

Two types of Evaluation are carried out under (cce)

Scholastic- The term scholastic refers to those aspects which are related to intellect or the brain. It includes assessment of learner in curricular subjects assignment project work practical or oral work etc.

Co-scholastic- the term co scholastic refers to those aspects which are related to hand and heart. These include pyschnometer skill, physical development, life skills attitude, values, interest and participation in co curricular activities.

Scholastic evaluation is carried out through the following two types of assessment :

  1. It is a process used by a teacher to continuously monitor students progress in a non threating and supportive environment. It provides effective diagnostic feedback to student and teacher for remedial intervention resulting in enhanced of learning and attainment.
  2. Pre decided parameter like levels of understanding punctuality and neatness, completeness Creativeness etc. may be given due to weightage for assessment an assignment or project. Parameter such as presentation, technical ability creative input and levels of understanding may be used.
